Hint of Fall

The sun's strength is fading, and cool fronts are beginning to breeze in. And that's all it takes, for the foliage to start it's show.

New Blooms

Vegetable Garden

San Marzano is ripening.

Late Summer Plantings

Echinacea 'Summer Sun' planted by the sidewalk and drive.

It opens red orange and fades to this amber cream.

It's show will start about the time the summer daisy blooms fade.

Purple Coneflower 'Prairie Splendor' in the front flower garden, where a blue oat grass was recently removed. This is next to the rainbow knock out rose-they should make a nice combination.

Dwarf Asters...nice to get some Autumn color! These will come back each year.

The Cosmos are coming on finally.

Here I planted the Gloriosa Daisy, in the cutting garden. I like the amber and brown blooms with the blue tree.

At sunset.

The purple coneflowers in the sitting garden.

The new roses: Peach Drift groundcover roses. The most floriferous of the Drift family of roses.

And hey, color on a tomato!! I don't know if this is on it's way to being yellow, orange or red...we'll see. I bet it will be tasty though!
