New Compost Bays

The compost garden was upgraded today! My husband made a great system...now I have lots of room to make good dirt. From cardboard boxes to official compost bays! He busted this out in two hours, I'm feeling very lucky.

A collection of favorites

Cerinthe, a favorite in my garden, the tips of the green leaves will also turn blue soon.

Coral Bells foliage turns a bit pink in Summer.

The Alliums going to seed.

Phlox, a freebie from a local garden sale, love it.

Lilac Poppy.

New daylilies planted over the lavender hedge.

Looks like an exotic orchid, but it is the humble 'guacamole' Hosta.

Pink flowers on Dragon's Blood Sedum.

I love the pink stems on Rainbow Leucothoe.

Red Poppy.

Zinnia.

Portulaca.

Monarda, a favorite of hummingbirds.

I shunned this flower for years because I didn't like the spider-ish bloom. I finally planted it because hummingbirds and butterflies love it, and now that I see it in person I am crazy about it!

Drumstick Allium grow just about 2 1/2 feet tall.

Furry seedpods of the Pasque Flower.

Borage, the first blooms open pink and turn an intense light blue.

I love Columbine foliage.

The first Tomato is on the vine!

The lettuce is getting huge.

Pink Lavender in the Moon garden, starting to fade in the heat.

The Angel's Fishing rods blooming.

Dark red sweet peas with hydrangea.

Mexican feather grass, a gift from Betty of Betty's garden sale.

This is a very happy spot in the garden lately.

Lavender with bright yellow sedum blooms and stipa gigantea.

The Abraham Darby rose doing it's amazing things.

I'm smitten with this creature.
