These daylilies were moved here last Fall to hover over the lavenders, unfortunately, the laveneders here are now quite shaded, and not doing too much...it's funny when my plan doesn't quite work the way I expected. I do love the lilies here. But alas, the Lavenders must go back to the other side of the yard!
In contrast, the lavenders in the sunny moon garden are quite happy.
The moon garden is mecca for birds now, with the bird bath and 2 feeders seemingly always occupied. Red wing black birds and Flickers are our favorites, especially their babies.
The birds run around the rock in the bird bath, flapping their wings and pushing all the water over the sides, it's astonishing to watch.
I'm creating a meadow under the hammock, mainly mexican hair grasses and lavenders.
The vegetable garden has been expanded, but our water doesn't reach the new spot!
The tomatoes are taking off.
This area has been taken over by Violet Lupine, and the Autumn Joy Sedums planted between may not be so happy about not having sun on them.
We're starting to see evidence of "crowding"...I'm taking notes of what will need dividing or transplanting this fall.
A flower garden is emerging down by the compost bin. We've increasingly seen hummingbirds chasing around in this area.
They really like to spend time with this tall toad flax.
The Pear tree plantings are beginning to take shape. Mostly Lavenders, Lilac and sedums, with a few glads and campanulas, blueberries and Spring bulbs.
A couple more areas that have been in transition are starting to take on personality.
