Campanula 'Elizabeth', first time in bloom.

Spirea 'Snow mound'

Japanese Spirea 'Gold Mound'

Stipa 'Bright Lights'

Foxglove, in bloom for the first time this year. I've admired these for over a decade & got a "volunteer" last year on a free plant at a neighborhood sale.

Blue Primrose, from Helga.

Pink and yellow Primrose from Helga.

Japanese Spirea 'Anthony Waterer'.

Spirea

Warm in Seattle

This June has been beautiful, warm, sunny, with misty rain and cool breezes. The plants love it as much as I do. Dragonflies, frogs, birds and bees too.

The bearded Iris blooming in the back yard.

Blue Columbine with Lamb's ear and emerging Lavender.

Siberian Iris in bloom.

Dwarf Nandina

Chives...I put these blooms in a potato salad and they were so delicate tasting.

Geranium, a ground cover, this is the first time we have seen the bloom.

Geranium with Bleeding heart.

Violet Lupine

A new star is born in my garden this year. A gorgeous Lupine, from Europe, that does not mildew after bloom! I planted these from seed from Helga, I did not know the color would be so rich & beautiful.

Stick Supports

Jon and I made some very cool supports for peas, beans and sweet pea flowers this weekend. We made four of these blair witch looking stick towers with garden prunings & wire. So far we've planted Beans Long Zi (an Asian variety that's best at 26 inch long!), European broad bean from Helga, and Sweet peas.

June Blooms

Peony 'Sorbet'

Peony 'Sorbet' with Bi color Iris and a bee completely passed out head first.

Campanula 'Blue Clips'

Culinary Sage in full bloom.

Lovage Blooms heavy with pollen and a lazy slow moving bee.

Rosa 'Rainbow'

Rosa 'Peach Drift' just beginning it's show. Starting pinker that usual.

The daisy by the roadside has a messy habit but it's charming none the less.

Penstemon 'Red Riding Hood'

The first to open of the the 'Ice Cream' Peony.

'Golden Celebration' David Austin rose.

Our neighbor's pink rhody spilling blooms onto our path.

Euphorbia blooms fading...it looks a mess but I do admit I like a mess for a while.

Peony 'Karl Rosenfeld'

This beautiful Peony only put up a couple blooms this year. It needs a good freeze to bloom well so it may have not had it this past winter. However the bloom this year was the biggest I have ever seen on it.

Tomatoes

The tomatoes germinated on the window sill, transitioned through the cold frame, and were finally planted outside today in this very late warm season. This year I'm growing:
Cherokee Purple
Rainbow Heirloom
San Marzano
Yellow Pear
Sugar Sweetie Cherry
